Connecting with and engaging donors is a key focus of independent schools. Since these institutions do not receive any federal funding for their programs, most school rely on donors to support the educational extras that set them apart. Therefore, donor stewardship is essential and thanking those supporters is one of the most meaningful exercises.
These donor "thank yous" appeared in printed alumni periodicals for an elite private school in California. Inserted at the end of the magazine, they capture the reader to leave them with a feeling of gratitude (as well as a reminder to make a gift). Their purpose is to communicate the power and importance of making philanthropic donations and the impact those donations make for students and teachers.
